Meet Our Surgeons

Plastic Surgery Bellingham has served patients in Bellingham since 2004. The practice is led by two board-certified plastic surgeons who each have decades of plastic and cosmetic surgery experience.

Breast Augmentation Cost and Payment

Interior of Plastic Surgery Bellingham

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure and is not typically covered by health insurance. Total case cost varies based on implant type, surgical complexity, anesthesia time, and any combined procedures. The exact figure for your case is provided during the consultation, including all preparatory work, so there are no surprises.

Our front desk at Plastic Surgery Bellingham will review payment options with you before surgery is scheduled, and many patients choose to use a personal credit card or their own financing.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation?

Good candidates for breast augmentation share a few patterns:

  • In good general health, with no active conditions that complicate surgery or anesthesia
  • Realistic expectations about what augmentation can and cannot change
  • Non-smoker, or willing to pause smoking before surgery and through the early recovery window
  • Done with breastfeeding (or comfortable with the implications of augmentation before future childbearing)
  • Wanting volume change rather than position change — patients whose primary concern is sagging tissue are typically better candidates for a breast lift or a combined lift-and-augmentation plan

The consultation confirms candidacy and walks through the plan that fits your specific case.

Combining Breast
Lift With Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation adds volume. It does not lift breast position or correct significant sagging. Patients who want both more volume and better position typically need a breast lift (mastopexy) combined with augmentation. The combined procedure addresses size and shape together, in a single recovery rather than two.

Dr. Blackburn and Dr. Whitney perform both procedures and can plan them as one case when that is the right call.
